Fiberbuilt® Manufacturing is proud to announce that BOB TOSKI endorses the Fiberbuilt® Golf Mat products.

Bob Toski, widely known and highly skilled professional golfer, is one of the most gifted golf educators and has helped many golfers develop and play the game better.

Inducted into the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame in 1999, Toski has years of experience as a professional golf instructor, Bob Toski knows the benefit that the proper driving surface has on golf practice, "It's the best mat for golf I have ever encountered, the softness, it's just like the real turf on a fairway" says Toski, "I like the Fiberbuilt mats because the mat has a softness to allow the force of the golfclub to travel to the bottom of the arc and to compress the ball. It has a feel like no other mat that I have ever experienced".

I am the Superintendent at Dub's Dread Golf Club, an 18 hole, champion

ship style golf course in Kansas City, Kansas. I recently purchased 20 of the S4R-401 golf mat systems for my practice facility. In the three weeks I have had them I have heard nothing but compliments about them. My tee space on my practice facility is very limited. With all the tournaments and public play that we do, within a few weeks my tee tops are beat up and become an eye sore. Also, with all the wear and tear, it creates an uneven hitting surface for golfers. With the addition of these mat systems, they give me the opportunity to go "mats" only and give my tees the recovery time they need to heal in.

Most traditional knitted nylon hitting mats will leave the green pigment on the bottom of a golfers club, mostly the irons. With the 1" fairway grass panel, there is no transfer of pigment to the club. I had one of my members tell me it actually polishes up the bottom of his irons.

One issue I was worried about when deciding on what type of mat I wanted was the weight of each mat because I did not want them moving around. Here in Kansas, it is windy everyday except on Christmas. Each S4R-401 system ways approximately 129lbs and that really got my attention. Last week we had some severe thunderstorms roll through with 75 mph winds. The next morning I came in and went up to the practice facility every single system including the ball tray was in the exact same place it was in the day before.

With the 1" fairway hitting panel it allows the clubface of the iron to flow through the shot. I truly believe that there is no difference between hitting a ball off these mats than hitting a shot off of my Zoysia fairways. A golfer has a perfect lie every time they address the ball, and that is what you want when you are practicing. This really helps a golfer develop a continuous rhythm in their golf swing.

While dealing with Fiberbuilt Golf Co. when purchasing these systems, they showed great professionalism, patience, and customer support. Fiberbuilt made the purchase go very smoothly and on time. I am very impressed with these S4R-401 mat systems and would recommend them to any facility looking to purchase or update their practice range.

My name is Chip Gist. I have been a Member of the PGA of America for 15 years. I am currently the President of NORAM Management. The purpose of this letter is to explain the value of a product I have been using at Grey Rock Golf Club for 18 months.

As a golf professional in Austin Texas I am not a fan of artificial turf to practice or warm up for golf. Due to our good fortune of having a 12 month golf season, "mats" are viewed as a "necessary evil". Golfers in the area perceive the hitting off of mats to cheapen the experience. Generally mats feel like concrete and look like hell. My perception changed when I discovered Fiberbuilt Golf Products.

The Fiberbuilt mat offered 3 things I had never seen before. First the surface was nice to hit from. The turf does not feel hard when the club makes contact nor is it too soft. In fact it feels as close to real turf as I have ever experienced. Secondly, the way the balls and mat are presented looks as good as any pyramid system. It looks like a consistent row of turf rather than individual mats on a concrete slab. Lastly, the durability of the Fiberbuilt mat is unmatched. The 1x1 squares allow the professional to rotate the wear as if rotating tires on a car. It's brilliant.

These features and benefits convinced me to buy a set of 14 mats for Grey Rock Golf Club. After 18 months they look like new, the real grass turf has never been in better shape, and the golfers have a positive experience on the days they use the mats. Fiberbuilt will the preferred product at any golf facility I ever own or manage.

"Very soft feel through the impact zone. No movement of the stance mat during swing, very stable" -- at the Shell Houston Open 2008

Chad Campbell, PGA Professional

We are happy to be one of your first customers. Since opening we have not considered changing our mats for the simple reason that they are durable, long lasting reasonably priced and golfers of all skill levels appreciate the "grass" like feel and play of your Fiberbuilt Mats, thus allowing theme to hit more balls with no risk of hand/arm injury or damage to their clubs.

Marlyn Kennedy, Manager, The Golf Dome

Your mats are the best I have seen in all categories. My golfers love it. They wouldn’t ever consider going back to the old mats. Even my purist, low handicappers enjoy practicing from these mats. These mats have the feel of hitting of grass.

Russell G. Garner, Head Golf Professional, Windyke Country Club

We have been through other mat products before but the feed back from members was unacceptable, they were afraid to hit knockdown shots or get down on the shot. But now with Fiberbuilt we have had nothing but positive reaction. I know people are enjoying practicing more.

Dwayne Blume, General Manager Canyon Meadows Country Club

When I practice using Fiberbuilt I am able to play all my shots, from my most lofted wedges to fairway woods and hybrids, from steep descending attack angles to ascending sweeping shots. I can hit 100's of balls in one session and receive no pain from impact.

Barb Mucha, 5 Time winner on the LPGA Tour

From GolfOpions.com:

Fiberbuilt or Astroturf?

I'm looking for a practice mat for my backyard and I've narrowed down to Fiberbuilt and Astroturf. Please help me decide if you have tried them.

Fiberbuilt all the way

I have hit balls off of both and there is no comparison. Go with the Fiberbuilt. I live in the northern US, so I have a fiberbuilt and a net in my garage. I hit balls 4 to 5 times a week during the winter. I move it outside during the summer and use it when I don't have the time to make it to the range. It is the most realistic fake surface I have used, and I think I have tried everything out there. Unlike an astroturf mat, your club will not skip into the ball if you hit it fat, resulting in a good shot. Your body will not feel the shock that you get with astroturf either. If you hit off a fiberbuilt mat at a range, you will get a slightly higher trajectory than you get off grass, but it's not too bad.

Hitting mats?

I have went through 2 or 3 hitting mats and they all seem to tear too quickly. I was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with where to buy and what is a good quality mat. Let me know what you guys have and where you got it.

Hitting mats?

I have a fiberbuilt mat with short and thick turf. Superb quality.

Hitting mats?

Look no further than fiberbuilt.com. These mats are the closest thing I have seen to hitting off real grass.

Hitting mats?

I have had my fiberbuilt mat for more than a year and it looks and feels just as it did when I bought it. I use it 4 or 5 times per week during the winter, and have friends who come over to my house to use it as well. I have seen it at a commercial driving range in Portland, OR and it looked just like mine does. I think it will last a long time.

Hitting mats?

so how are you liking your new mat? thinking of getting one myself, as my current mat is causing some elbow pain...

Hitting mats?

After talking with the guy I got my clubs I am very happy with the mat. The coolest thing about the mat is that it is very solid on the bottom and I buried it in my yard where it is level with the ground. It is very soft feeling but not so soft that you don't know when you hit one fat. Durability does not seem like it will be a problem at all. I am very pleased.

Hitting mats?

I will place a second vote for a fiberbuilt mat. (You can purchase these at www.fiberbuilt.com). This is as close to hitting off of real grass as you can get. The ball sits on a thick brush, so your club goes down into it as if you were making a divot. Unlike astroturf mats, your club will not skip into the ball if you hit it fat. I have one in my garage and hit balls during the winter 4 or 5 times per week. Winter is a great time to work on your swing.

In-door driving ranges???

Over the last few years a few indoor hitting domes have sprung up around town for hitting balls in the winter. I have heard so much pro & con about hitting in these off mats. I have heard everything from "no problem" to "it can damage your joints as well as your clubs".

With cold weather/snow just around the corner these facilities are nice in that they do provide a way to keep swinging throughout the year.

Chuck, or anyone, what is the truth about hitting range balls off mats in these indoor ranges? Should I be concerned about damaging anything including myself? Has there been any actual research beyond just "opinion" about hitting from mats?

Everyone seems to have an opinion on this question but what are the facts?

Thanks

Mats

I never hit off the foam rubber mats, but see if you can find a place that has fiberbuilt mats. The ball sits on a large, thick brush. It is the closest I have seen to real grass. Plus, it gives so it is not as hard on your body as foam rubber mats. I hit on one of these at a driving range in Portland, OR and have since bought one for my house.

Practice stuff

I am also installing practice stuff at my house. I have not gotten a net yet, but I think that best mat out there is the fiberbuilt mat. The web address is fiberbuilt.com. Click on the golf button and go to home practice mats. The ball sits on what is essentially a big, green brush. The club can go down into it rather than bouncing off foam rubber and skipping into the ball. You can tell when you hit it fat. I looked at a bunch of different types of mats and these are far and away the best.

Practice stuff

As far as the practice mat... I just bot a cheap 4x6 foot mat... which was a real waste of money. Don't skimp on the mat... get a good one...
